今日は"Hashimoto takes over as games chief"と言う記事からです。

新しい会長に就任した橋本氏は、政界やスポーツ界での長年の実績と、東京五輪担当大臣として組織委員会や東京都、IOCと向き合ってきました。

東京大会の準備状況を理解していることや、組織運営能力や大会関係者との調整ができる人物として期待が寄せられているようです。

しかし、橋本氏が直面する課題は山積みですね。

古イタリア語 disgraziaが語源のようです。分解すると “dis”（分離、反)＋ “grazia”（面目）で、「面目を失う」みたいな感じでしょうか。

意味

Oxford learner's dictionariesによれば、the loss of other people’s respect and approval because of the bad way somebody has behaved、同義語は shameという事です。つまり「不名誉」です。

in disgraceはイデオムですかね、「不名誉の中で、面目を失って」というニュアンスのようです。
