さて、今日はトヨタの水素エンジンの話です。
欧米では、EV（電気自動車）へ加速してますが、本当にCO2を減らす解決方法がこれだけなのかと言うとちょっと違いますよね。
燃料電池自動車で花火を上げたトヨタが水素をうまく利用してやろうと言うのは当然かもしれませんが、水素自動車だって十分にクリーンです。
これって、エンジンなど、EV化で衰退する技術もバックアップできるし、なにより、中国や韓国などには絶対に真似できない技術ですから、良いアイデアだと思います。

Etymology Dictionaryによれば、"pinch, pluck, twist," usually to the nose, c. 1600, probably from Middle English twikken "to draw, tug, pluck" (mid-15c.), from Old English twiccian "to pluck," of obscure origin; perhaps related to twitch. Meaning "to make fine adjustments" is attested from 1966.とあります。中英語のtwikken、古英語のtwiccianが由来のようです。もとの意味は「ひねる」「取り出す」、、いっぱいあります。
意味
Oxford Learner's Dictionariesによれば、to make slight changes to a machine, system, etc. to improve it と説明があります。「～を微調整する」です。語源との関連ですが、何かにひとひねりを入れる、と言う事なんでしょうね。
