旦那さんは、チェルノブイリ原発事故の放射線による癌で亡くなられたそうです。
今回、日本にいる娘さんを頼って日本へ避難されました。
このような悲劇は、2度と起こって欲しくないですね。
これまでに、ウクライナから日本へ避難された方は約900人のようです。早く母国へ帰りたいでしょうけど、それまでは日本で安全に快適に過ごしてもらえればと思います。

Etymology Dictionaryによれば、early 14c., possibly from Middle Dutch schuderen "to shudder," or Middle Low German schoderen, both frequentative forms from Proto-Germanic *skuth- "to shake." とあります。中期オランダ語のschuderen、中世低地ドイツ語のschoderen由来で、どちらもゲルマン祖語の*skuth-から来てるようです。「身震いする」、「振る」という意味らしいです。
