さて、生鮮食品を除く消費者物価は、加工食品価格や、円安とによるエネルギーコストの上昇を主な要因として、6月には前年比2.2％もの速いペースで上昇しています。
米欧はインフレ対策の為に金利の大幅引き上げを実施していますが、日銀は金融緩和政策を取り続けています。
もともと賃金上昇とセットだったはずのインフレですが、今日本で起こっているのは、コストプッシュインフレです。
まぁ、これが良いのか悪いのかわかりませんが、海外からの資本家、特に中国の資本家が日本の土地や旅館を買いあさっているようです。これは何としても食い止めないと。

Etymology Dictionaryによれば、c. 1300 (implied in smoldering), "to smother, suffocate," related to Middle Dutch smolen, Low German smelen, Flemish smoel "hot," from Proto-Germanic *smel-, *smul-. The intransitive meaning "burn and smoke without flame" is first recorded 1520s, fell from use 17c. (though smoldering persisted in poetry) and was revived 19c. です。中期オランダ語のsmolen、低地ドイツ語のsmelen、フラマン語のsmoel、ゲルマン祖語の*smel-あたりが由来のようですが、それほどはっきりしてないようです。smokeに関連があるのでしょうか？
意味
Oxford Learner's Dictionariesによれば、to burn slowly without a flame、to be filled with a strong emotion that you do not fully expressと説明があります。前者は「くすぶる、〔炎を出さずに〕燃える」、後者は「〔感情が〕くすぶる、内向する」の意味です。
