さて、（悪い）インフレが秋に向けて加速してます。
日本の消費者物価指数は 7 月に前年比 2.4% 上昇、ここ7 年で最も急激な上昇を示したそうです。
小麦や油などの輸入原材料に依存する食料品の価格上昇率は、6 月に 3.2% を超え、7 月にはさらに 3.7% に上昇ています。
また、日用品価格も急激に上昇しており、ウクライナ危機による燃料不足により、電気やガスなどの公共料金は約 20% 上がっています。
人々のインフレに対する認識はすでに５％に達しているとの事です。
帝国データバンクによると、今年の１月から７月までに倒産した企業は116社で、負債総額は1,000万円以上。これは、同社が調査を開始した2018年以来の最速ペースだそうです。
尚、これらの倒産のうち、33 件は運輸業で、中小規模の企業は、燃料やその他の関連費用の転嫁が困難なため、大きな打撃を受けてます。
一方で、賃金上昇は物価上昇に追いつかず、実質賃金は4月から3カ月連続で低下しています。ますます、家庭の財布の紐を固くせざるを得ないです。

名詞が先で、Etymology Dictionaryによれば、Old English dal "state of being divided; a sharing, a giving out" (original senses now mostly obsolete), shortened from gedal "portion," and related to dæl "deal," from Proto-Germanic *dailan.
Meaning "a part apportioned or divided out" is from late 12c.; that of "distribution of alms or gifts" is by late 13c. Specifically as "a portion of money, food, or other things distributed in charity" is by late 15c. From 1919 it became the popular name in Britain for various government payments made regularly to the unemployed. です。
古英語のdal「分割されている状態、共有、配与」、ゲルマン祖語の*dailan「分割する」が由来のようです。分けると言う意味は12世紀後半に登場してます。
意味
Oxford Learner's Dictionariesによれば、名詞のdoleは、money paid by the state to unemployed peopleと説明があります。「失業手当」の意味です。動詞のほうは、単独で用いられることは少ないらしく、句動詞のdole outで使われるようです。こちらは、to give out an amount of food, money, etc. to a number of people in a group、「～を（少しずつ）人に与える、～を施しものとして分ける」の意味です。
