さて、久々に韓国関連の記事です。
韓国と言えば、例の話しかありませんが、韓国の最高裁判所がまもなく、今月中に、三菱重工業株式会社の韓国資産を現金化する裁判所命令を出す可能性があるそうです。
日本政府は、韓国に対して「日本の一貫した立場」に基づいて、両国間の健全な関係を回復するために「責任を持って」この問題に対応するよう求めています。
前の左派政権で起こしたこの問題、どうなるのか見ものです。勿論、ボールは韓国にあります。

Etymology Dictionaryによれば、from Latin impendere "to hang over;" figuratively "to be imminent, be near," from assimilated form of in- "into, in, on, upon" (from PIE root *en "in") + pendere "to hang" (from PIE root *(s)pen- "to draw, stretch, spin").です。
ラテン語のimpendereが由来です。in-は「中へ、上に」、pendereは「つるす」の意味です。「危険が上に、中に、ぶら下がっている」が元の意味だそうです。
意味
Cambridge Dictionaryによれば、If an event impends, usually an event that is unpleasant or unwanted, it is going to happen soon:と説明があります。「〔危険などが〕差し迫る」の意味です。

liquidationは、the process of closing a company, selling what it owns and paying its debtsです。
