さて、エーザイとアメリカの製薬会社が共同で開発したアルツハイマーの治療薬「レカネマブ」をFDAが承認しました。
FDAの発表によれば、新薬を患者に投与した結果、アルツハイマー病の原因物質とされる異常なタンパク質「アミロイドβ」を脳内で減らす効果を確認し、病気の進行そのものを抑える効果があったということです。
日本の製薬大手エーザイが記者会見を開き、一日も早く日本でも承認申請する考えを示しました。
日本って、安全にはとりわけ気を遣う、というか副作用で何か起きたらどうしよう？をまず考えるので、すんなり承認と言う訳にはいかないと思います。
ちなみに、エーザイは、米国での標準的な価格は年2万6500ドル＝およそ350万円だそうです。
