具体的には九州南部で平均より18日、関東甲信越と東海で平均より22日早いらしいです。
で、次に来るのが猛暑ですが、政府は東京の住民に電力使用を制限するよう呼びかけています。
やはり、一刻も早く超安全になった原子力発電所を再稼働させましょう。再エネではまだもちません。

swelterはEtymology Dictionaryによれば、from Old English sweltan "to die, perish," from Proto-Germanic *swiltan-, perhaps originally "to burn slowly," hence "to be overcome with heat or fever," from PIE root *swel- (2) "to shine, beam" (see Selene). From the same ancient root comes Old English swelan "to burn." For specialization of words meaning "to die," compare starve. です。古英語のsweltan「死ぬ、滅びる」、ゲルマン祖語の*swiltan-「ゆっくり燃える」、印欧祖語の*swel-「輝く」が語源のようです。全部、火に関連しているようです。

Oxford Learner's Dictionariesによれば、very hot in a way that makes you feel uncomfortableと説明があります。「うだる（地獄の）ように暑い」の意味です。
