さて、イギリスのリズ・トラス首相が20日、辞任を表明しました。首相就任から45日しかたっておらず、在任期間は史上最短となる見通しだそうです。
9月下旬に打ち出した大規模減税策が金融市場を混乱させたとのことで、その責任を取った形です。
次の首相としては、前任者のボリス・ジョンソン氏の復帰の可能性もあり得るそうです。
トラス政権の支持率は数パーセントということなので、日本でも見たことのない数字です。

古フランス語のquerele、ラテン語のquerella、イタリック祖語の*kwese-、印欧祖語の*kues-が由来です。論争、苦情、などの意味のようです。
