bestは知らない人はいない単語ですが、今日は動詞の方です。
さて、今日までの季節外れの暖かい秋にもかかわらず、いよいよ寒い冬が間近に迫っているという事らしいです。
今年の冬は、平年並みか、寒いと言う予想があります。
昔、「クールビズ」キャンペーンと言うのがありましたが、2005 年に初めて導入された、政府支援の「ウォームビズ」は、当初、国民が室温を摂氏 20 度にすることを奨励する方法として考案されました。これは、暖房用の化石燃料の使用を制限し、二酸化炭素の排出を削減するのに寄与します。
そして、またこの「ウォームビズ」キャンペーンが始まっています。
この「ウォームビズ」で潤うのは、先ずは衣料品業界ですね。
それにしても、原発の稼働は道筋が見えているのでしょうか？岸田さんは”検討中”でしょうか？

動詞のbestは、形容詞からの派生のようです。形容詞はEtymology Dictionaryによれば、Old English beste, reduced by assimilation of -t- from earlier Old English betst "of the highest quality or standing, first, in the best manner." This originally was the superlative of bōt "remedy, reparation"です。
古英語のbeste、betstが由来のようです。「最高の品質または地位の」の意味があったらしいです。これが「よりよくする、超える」と言う意味の動詞になったらしいです。
意味
