今日は"Officials ousted amid scandal tied to PM’s son"と言う記事からです。

reprimandは2回目かもしれません。

武田総務相は19日の記者会見で、菅首相の長男から接待を受けた秋本情報流通行政局長と湯本官房審議官を20日付で官房付に異動させると発表しました。

これは事実上の更迭ですね。

秋本氏は19日の衆院予算委員会で、菅首相の長男と会食中の衛星放送事業に関する話題について「今となってはあったのだろう」と一転して認めています。

まぁ、いろいろあるようですが、菅首相本人と関係がありますか？

ちなみに息子の菅正剛氏は1981年生まれで逗子開成中学、高校と進んだのちに明治学院大学に進学されてるようです。どうでも良いですが。。。

Etymology dictionaryによれば、1630s, from French réprimande (16c.), from French reprimende "reproof," from Latin reprimenda "that is to be repressed", fem. singular of reprimendus, gerundive of reprimere "hold back, curb," figuratively "check, confine, restrain, refrain," from re- "back" + premere "to press, hold fast, cover, crowd, compress". ラテン語のreprimereが由来のようで、抑えるとかの意味です。

意味

Oxford learner's dictionariesによれば、the act of telling somebody officially that you do not approve of them or their actionsと説明があります。「叱責、非難、けん責、戒告、懲戒、処分」の事です。

動詞では、「（職務に関して）人を叱責する」となります。
