今日は"Thailand’s oil giant is going on a green spending spree"と言う記事からです。
tilt、チルトってよく聞きます。
さて、タイの記事ですが、天然ガス事業、石油事業のタイ大手のPTTがEV事業や再エネ業界へ入ってくるようです。
同社は現在も、タイ財務省が同社株式の52.32%を保有しており、間接出資分を合算すると約68%をタイ政府が出資する国有企業のようです。
この記事は、あまり我々には関係がないですが、驚きなのが、タイもクリーンエネルギーへ傾斜し始めているという事です。
再エネは世界的な流れになっていると改めて感じます。
が、、、日本のこの業界では、大幅な人手不足、有資格者不足になっているように思われます。

Etymology Dictionaryによれば、Old English *tyltan "to be unsteady," from tealt "unsteady," from Proto-Germanic *taltaz (source also of Old Norse tyllast "to trip," Swedish tulta "to waddle," Norwegian tylta "to walk on tip-toe," Middle Dutch touteren "to swing"). Meaning "to cause to lean, tip, slope" (1590s) is from sense of "push or fall over." Intransitive sense "to lean, tip" first recorded 1620s. とあります。
古英語のtyltan、古ノドル語のtaltazに遡るようですが、スカンジナビアから出た言葉でしょうか？もともとは「不安定な」のようなニュアンスで、それが「傾ける」へ派生していったと思われます。
意味
Oxford Learner's Dictionariesによれば、 to move, or make something move, into a position with one side or end higher than the otherと説明があります。「～を傾ける、傾転させる、斜めにする」です。もう一つ、tilt (something/somebody) (in favour of/away from something/somebody)の形で、 to make something/somebody change slightly so that one particular opinion, person, etc. is preferred or more likely to succeed than another; to change in this wayとあります。「～に対して～を有利にする」でしょうか。
