さて、そろそろ身近な人たちも3回目のワクチンを接種し始めています。
気になるのは接種した後の副作用ですが、ファイザー社によれば2回目と同様に痛み、倦怠感、頭痛があるようです。
いやですね。。
接種後の副作用があるにもかかわらず、出社させている会社が多いみたいです。会社側は人手不足を理由にしないで、しっかり休ませましょう。

語源
Etymology Dictionaryによれば、1660s, "that which causes weariness," from French fatigue "weariness," from fatiguer "to tire" , from Latin fatigare "to weary, to tire out," とあります。ラテン語のfatiguerが語源です。更に、from pre-Latin adjective *fati-agos "driving to the point of breakdown," with first half from Old Latin *fatis, which is of unknown origin but apparently related to affatim (adv.) "sufficiently" and to fatisci "crack, split." The second half is the root of agere "to set in motion, drive; to do, perform"との説明もあるので、プリラテン語(?)の*fati-agosまで遡ります。これは、 *fatis 「疲労」+ agō 「動かす/追いやる」から構成されているようです。
意味
Oxford Learner's Dictionariesによれば、 a feeling of being extremely tired, usually because of hard work or exercise と説明があります。「疲れ、疲労、倦怠感」のことです。
