さて、林外相が、岸田首相と中国共産党の習近平国家主席との首脳会談の開催を検討すると金曜日述べたそうです。
日本の首相と習氏の対話は2021年10月の電話協議以降、対面での首脳間の協議は19年12月以降開いていないようです。
国交正常化50年の節目を9月に控え関係の改善を探っているようですが、「マジですか？」と思います。
やはり親中派内閣なんでしょうか？

名詞が先のようです。Etymology Dictionaryによれば、from Old French plage, from Late Latin plaga "affliction; slaughter, destruction," used in Vulgate for "pestilence," from Latin plaga "stroke, wound," probably from root of plangere "to strike, lament," from or cognate with Greek (Doric) plaga "blow" (from PIE root *plak- "to strike").です。
古期フランス語 plage「大厄災」、 ラテン語 plaga「一撃」、 印欧語根 *plak-「打つ」が語源だと思います。
意味
Oxford Learner's Dictionariesによれば、to cause pain or trouble to somebody/ something over a period of time、to annoy somebody or create problems, especially by asking for something, demanding attention, etc.と説明があります。「～を苦しめる、～を悩ませる」の意味です。
