さて、今日は日産の話です。
日産は、株主であるルノーから逃れるため 2019 年 9 月に三菱自動車と大手商社である三菱商事が管理する新会社の下で力を合わせることで合意していたそうですね。
このルノーって会社は、日産を支配しようとしてましたが（今も？）とんでもない話です。
最近、ルノーが日産の株を15%まで下げて関係を対等にするような記事もありましたが、どうなったのでしょう？簡単に引き下がるとは思えませんが。部外者から見ても。
知人によれば、日産の技術系の人たちって、相当無理な開発を強いられているみたいです。また役員の報酬問題もあってか、厳しいガバナンスが末端にまで及んでいるとか。
一時期は、転職市場で日産を止めた人が多かったそうですね。
秘術系の新卒や中途で転職を考えている人は、じっくり考えた方が良いかもしれません。私だったら行きません。。

Etymology Dictionaryによれば、"cause to leave the rails or run off the tracks; to run off the rails or tracks," from French dérailler "to go off the rails," from de- (see de-) + railler (see rail (n.1)). です。
フランス語のdéraillerが由来でしょうか。de-「離れて」＋railler「レール、軌道」と分解できるので、意味は想像できますね。

2019 年 9 月、日産の西川博人社長が、報酬問題の責任を取るために辞任すると発表したため、考えられていた株式取引取引は公表される約 1 週間前に頓挫した。
補足
discrepancyは言うまでもなく、a difference between two or more things that should be the sameです。
