この会談は、日本側が呼びかけたらしいです。

Etymology Dictionaryによれば、Old English forstig, fyrstig "as cold as frost;" see frost (n.) + -y (2). です。
で、frostは、Old English forst, frost "frost, a freezing, frozen precipitation, extreme cold," from Proto-Germanic *frustaz "frost" , from the verb *freusanan "to freeze", from suffixed form of PIE *preus- "to freeze; burn".という事です。
古英語のforstigが由来で、意味は「霜のように冷たい」です。frostは、古英語のforst、ゲルマン祖語の*frustazから来ており、「凍結する」ですね。
