解説：per-はここでは「through」のようです、sistはラテン語のsistere「to cause to stand(立てる)」が由来です。代表例はexist「外に立つ＝存在する」、insist「中に立つ＝固執する」が代表例です。という事で、「一貫してに立つ＝立ち続ける＝持続する」です。

解説：epiはギリシャ語の「上に、上に、上に、に加えて、向かって、間で」と言う意味で、epidemic「demo(人)の間で＝感染爆発」が典型です。後ろのほうは、同じくギリシャ語のtomnein「切断する」が由来で、典型例はatom「切断できない＝原子」です。という事で、「行間の間で切断する＝要約する」と言うことでしょうね。
